कांग्रेस उपाध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी माइक्रो ब्लॉगिंग वेबसाइट ट्विटर से आधिकारिक रूप से जुड़ गए हैं। उनका आधिकारिक ट्विटर हैंडल ‘ऑफिसऑफआरजी’ है। एक शुरुआती ट्वीट में लिखा गया है, “इस स्थान पर आप राहुल गांधी के आधिकारिक कार्यक्रमों से संबंधित सूचना और जानकारियां प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।

उनका अकाउंट 24 घंटे के अंदर सत्यापित हो गया और गुरुवार अपराह्न तीन बजे तक इसके 27,000 फॉलोअर हो गए थे। राहुल ने सिर्फ तीन ट्विटर अकाउंट को फॉलो किया है, जिसमें सभी कांग्रेस नेताओं से जुड़े हैं। खबर लिखे जाने तक राहुल गांधी के ट्विटर एकाउंट में 67.5 हजार फॉलोवर थे।

राहुल गांधी अपनी पार्टी के नेताओं के ट्विटर से जुड़ने के लंबे समय बाद इस माइक्रो ब्लॉगिग साइट से जुड़े हैं। ट्विटर पर सबसे ज्यादा फॉलो किए जाने वाले कांग्रेसी नेताओं में शशि थरूर, दिग्विजय सिंह और मनीष तिवारी शामिल हैं। थरूर के ट्विटर पर लगभग 29.8 लाख फॉलोअर हैं। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी भी काफी समय पहले ट्विटर पर आ चुके हैं। उनके ट्विटर पर 1.21 करोड़ फॉलोअर हैं वहीं दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के 43.9 लाख फॉलोअर हैं।
